They shared the joy of skiing with us all...

Each ski season brings with it a renewed sense of joy. As fall gives way to winter, we look forward to the first snowfall and the club's activities ahead.

None of this would be possible without the contributions of so many of our club's past members, all of whom shared their  passion for skiing with us, and made our joy possible through their efforts.

We are greatly saddened by the recent loss of the following  members and the 2007-2008 ski season is dedicated to their memories, their contributions, and their love of skiing.

Thank you...

Melodie Wilson - Oldenburg

Sadly, longtime member Melodie Wilson passed away Monday November 9th, of cancer at age 59.

Melodie was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 and became a public advocate for others fighting breast cancer. She founded the group After Breast Cancer Diagnosis, or ABCD, which provides mentoring for breast cancer patients.

Mrs. Wilson - Oldenburg was also very active in the Broadcasting field and documented much of her heroic struggle in an effort to bring breast cancer awareness to others.

Melodie is survived by her husband, Wayne Oldenburg, three daughters and one son.

Frederick W. Goldsmith

On April 14, 2009 at 4:30 am Fred Goldsmith passed away in his sleep with Janet at his side. As many of you know Fred had been in the hospital for about one and one half months with complications from open heart surgery and a subsequent debilitating stroke. He had good days and bad days in that time. In his last week he had the chance to say, "I love you to Janet" and that meant a lot. We will all miss his sense of humor and good nature.

With Love,

Will Goldsmith, Barbi Goldsmith, Gwen Goldsmith

A.D. "Robbie" Robertson

After a long life of 92 years, My beloved father, A.D. "Robbie" Robertson, passed on Sunday morning, March 22nd, at Columbia Hospital Hospice after having gone in three days earlier. We are grateful that he went peacefully and quickly. My Mother is a founding member of HH and met Dad just after that.  He was an engineer for Allis Chalmers at the time and later co-founded Robertson, Ryan & Associates, Inc., an insurance agency. Dad was in excellent health until a week before he passed on. We have been very fortunate to have had such a loving Father who always put family at the center of his life. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Herman Nunnemacher - Founding Father

Heiliger Huegel's Founding Father Herman Nunnemacher passed away over the summer. Herman was a Past President, a ski racing champion and has been positively involved with our Club from it's beginning. Herman will be missed, but he leaves behind in Heiliger Huegel a skiing legacy all members can enjoy and share in. His hard work and love of skiing has truly touched us all.
